PGA Tour: The Open Championship Top 5
What you need to know
This market asks whether a specific golfer — Scheffler, McIlroy, or Fleetwood — will finish inside the top 5 at the 2026 Open Championship. Picture the leaderboard after the final round: if the named player is in positions 1 through 5 (ties count, so it could technically be more than five players at those spots), it resolves Yes. If they finish 6th or lower, or miss the cut entirely, it resolves No. Each player has their own separate market. The market settles Yes if the player lands in the top 5 — including any ties — when official results are published after the tournament ends. The Open Championship is scheduled for mid-July 2026, and the deadline for results is July 25, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET. If for any reason official results aren't out by then, the market resolves No by default, regardless of what happened on the course. Results are confirmed using the PGA Tour's official website. None of the recent news provided relates to this market. There are no golf, Open Championship, or player-specific headlines in the feed. What would matter to watch for: any injury news about these players, their recent form on links-style courses, or course conditions at the host venue as the tournament approaches. Golf is genuinely hard to predict because a major championship field has 150-plus players, and even the best golfer in the world finishes outside the top 5 more often than not. The Open is played on links courses — seaside layouts where wind and weather can completely scramble a leaderboard in a single afternoon. That said, the market does price Scheffler at 33% and McIlroy at 27%, reflecting real favorites — so the main uncertainty isn't whether they're capable, it's whether any given week goes their way.
