Highest temperature in Atlanta on July 15?
What you need to know
This market is asking: on July 15, 2026, what will the hottest reading of the day be at Atlanta's main airport? The options are temperature bands — 84–85°F, 86–87°F, or 88–89°F — and whichever band contains that day's peak temperature wins. Think of it like guessing the afternoon high on a summer day in Atlanta: hot, but the question is exactly how hot. The market settles based on the single highest temperature recorded at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on July 15, 2026, pulled from Weather Underground's historical data for that station. The reading is in whole-degree Fahrenheit — no decimals. It won't officially close until the first data point for July 16 appears on that site, giving time for any last-minute corrections to July 15's readings to be captured before the result is locked in. No recent news was provided that relates to this market. The kind of thing that would matter closer to the date: forecasts from the National Weather Service for Atlanta in mid-July 2026, or any unusual weather pattern — like a heat dome or a strong cold front — approaching the Southeast around that time. Mid-July in Atlanta is reliably hot, which is why the market clusters around 86–89°F — that range covers about 74% of the probability. The real uncertainty is that daily highs still vary meaningfully based on cloud cover, humidity, passing storms, or shifting wind patterns, all of which are essentially unpredictable more than a few days out. With over a year until the date, no forecast exists yet, so the odds reflect historical patterns rather than any specific knowledge about that particular day.
