Highest temperature in Beijing on June 16?

What you need to know

This market is asking: how hot will Beijing get on June 16, 2026? Specifically, it's asking you to pick the peak daytime temperature — the single highest reading of the whole day — measured at Beijing Capital International Airport. The leading options are 27°C (about 81°F), 28°C (about 82°F), and 26°C (about 79°F), which are all fairly warm early-summer days, not extreme heat. It settles the day after — once the first weather reading for June 17 appears on Weather Underground's records for Beijing Capital International Airport (station code ZBAA). Whatever whole-number Celsius peak temperature that site shows for June 16 is the answer. Temperatures are rounded to the nearest whole degree, so 27.6°C would count as 28°C. Any corrections the site makes before June 17's first data point are counted; corrections after that cutoff are ignored. None of the provided news headlines relate to Beijing weather or climate conditions. There's nothing here to point to. What would genuinely matter is a medium-range weather forecast for Beijing around June 16 — those typically become reliable about a week out — or any reports of an unusual heat pattern or cold front moving through northern China in that window. Weather is genuinely hard to pin to a single degree a year in advance. The market's three leading options — 26°C, 27°C, and 28°C — are separated by just one degree each, which is well within normal day-to-day variation. Mid-June in Beijing averages highs in the high 20s to low 30s, so the range is plausible, but a passing cloud system or an early heat wave could easily shift the reading a degree or two in either direction. No forecast this far out can meaningfully distinguish between these options.
