Highest temperature in Cape Town on July 13?

What you need to know

This market is asking: on July 13, 2026, what will the highest temperature of the day be in Cape Town? July is mid-winter in Cape Town — the city is in the Southern Hemisphere, so seasons are flipped — and the market is focused on one specific weather station at Cape Town International Airport. The three leading options are 15°C, 16°C, or 17°C (roughly 59°F to 63°F), which are all typical cool winter highs for that city. The market settles on whichever temperature bracket matches the single highest reading recorded at Cape Town Airport on July 13, 2026, as shown on Weather Underground's history page for that station. The temperature is rounded to the nearest whole degree Celsius — no decimals. The final answer is locked in once the first data point for July 14 appears on that page; any corrections published before that cutoff count, but changes after it do not. None of the recent news provided relates to Cape Town weather or South African meteorology. No relevant recent headlines were given for this market. The kind of development that would matter here is a forecast or weather pattern update for the Western Cape region in the days leading up to July 13, 2026. Weather is genuinely hard to pin down even a day in advance, let alone a year out. The market currently leans toward 17°C at 40%, but 15°C and 16°C together account for roughly 45%, so the spread is real. Cape Town winters can bring cold fronts off the Atlantic that push highs down, or brief warm spells that push them up. A single passing cloud system could shift the peak reading by a degree or two, which is exactly the width of each bracket here — making even a one-degree swing decisive.
