Highest temperature in Chongqing on July 14?

What you need to know

This market is asking: how hot will Chongqing get on July 14, 2026? Specifically, it's asking you to pick which temperature bucket — 40°C, 41°C, or 42°C — will match the single highest temperature recorded that day at Chongqing's main airport weather station. To put it in everyday terms: 40°C is 104°F, 41°C is about 106°F, and 42°C is about 108°F — all seriously intense heat. The question is just how extreme that one peak moment gets. The market settles based on the highest temperature logged at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (station code ZUCK) on July 14, 2026, as shown on the Weather Underground website. Whoever checks that page after midnight local time on July 15 looks at the single highest reading of the day, rounded to the nearest whole degree Celsius, and that number decides which option wins. One important edge case: if the data gets revised before the first reading of July 15 is published, the revision counts — but after that cutoff, no changes are accepted. No relevant recent news was provided for this market. The one headline listed doesn't appear to relate to Chongqing's weather. What would actually matter here is regional heat forecasts for mid-July 2026, any meteorological outlooks for Southwest China, or historical temperature records for this specific date — none of which are available in what was shared. July is deep inside Chongqing's famously brutal summer, and the city regularly posts some of the highest temperatures in China, so extreme heat is normal — but the exact peak on one specific day is genuinely hard to nail down. The three leading options are clustered close together and split fairly evenly, which reflects real uncertainty. A passing cloud system, a shift in wind direction, or a regional heat dome can easily push the reading one degree in either direction. One degree is the entire difference between winning options here.
