Highest temperature in Los Angeles on July 14?

What you need to know

This market is asking: how hot will Los Angeles get on July 14, 2026? Specifically, it's asking for the single highest temperature reached that day at the weather station at LAX airport — and which 2-degree range that peak falls into. The three choices are 74–75°F, 76–77°F, or 78–79°F. A 'Yes' on any one range simply means the day's peak temperature landed inside those two degrees. After July 14, 2026 ends, the market checks the Weather Underground website for the official high temperature recorded at the LAX airport station (KLAX) that day. Whatever whole-degree number that site shows as the day's peak determines the winner — for example, a reading of 77°F would settle the 76–77°F range. One important detail: the market locks in the reading once the first data point for July 15 appears, so late corrections to the July 14 record after that cutoff don't count. None of the provided news headlines relate to Los Angeles weather or temperature forecasts for July 14 — they cover entertainment topics. There's no relevant recent news to point to here. What would actually matter is a short-range weather forecast for the LAX area as the date approaches, or reports of any unusual heat or marine layer activity along the Southern California coast. Even one day out, coastal Los Angeles temperatures can be tricky to pin down. LAX sits right by the ocean, so the marine layer — a cool, low fog that rolls in from the Pacific — can keep the airport noticeably cooler than inland parts of the city. The three ranges on offer span only six degrees total, so a small shift in wind direction or cloud cover can easily move the reading from one range to another. The market currently leans toward 76–77°F, but the gap between the top two options is meaningful.
