Highest temperature in NYC on June 15?

38%Updated 4 min ago

What you need to know

This market is asking: how hot will New York City get on June 15, 2026? Specifically, it wants to know the single highest temperature reading of that day, measured in whole degrees Fahrenheit at LaGuardia Airport. The ranges on offer — 78–79°F, 80–81°F, 82–83°F, and others — are like buckets: whichever bucket the peak temperature falls into is the one that wins. Think of it as guessing whether NYC hits a comfortable warm day, a noticeably hot one, or something hotter. This settles based on the official high temperature recorded at LaGuardia Airport (station code KLGA) on June 15, 2026, as published on Weather Underground. Whatever the single highest reading is that day — say, 80°F — the market resolves to whichever range contains that number. One important detail: temperatures can be revised slightly during the day, but once the first data point for June 16 appears on Weather Underground, the reading is locked in and no further corrections count. There is no recent news relevant to this market right now, which makes sense — June 15, 2026 is still about a year away, far beyond any useful weather forecast. What would eventually matter is short-range forecasts from services like the National Weather Service as the date approaches, and whether any larger weather patterns (heat domes, cold fronts) are setting up over the northeastern U.S. around that time. Weather this far out is genuinely unpredictable — even the best meteorologists cannot forecast a specific day's high temperature more than about two weeks in advance with any real confidence. The market currently splits most of its weight between 78–79°F and 80–81°F, reflecting that mid-June in NYC is typically warm but not extreme. The real uncertainty is simply that anything from a cool front to an early heat wave could shift the outcome by several degrees, and there is no data yet that narrows that range meaningfully.
