Highest temperature in Wellington on June 11?
What you need to know
This market is asking: on June 11, 2026, how warm will it get in Wellington, New Zealand — specifically at the airport weather station? Wellington is in the Southern Hemisphere, so June 11 is a winter day there, which is why the temperatures being discussed are cool, around 14–16°C (roughly 57–61°F). The three options are like buckets: the market is essentially asking which single-degree bucket the day's peak temperature will land in. At the end of June 11, 2026 (Wellington time), someone checks the Weather Underground website for Wellington Airport and reads off the highest temperature recorded that day, rounded to the nearest whole degree Celsius. Whatever that number is — 14, 15, or 16 — that's the option that wins. One thing worth noting: the market waits until the first data point from June 12 appears before it officially settles, so there's a small built-in delay. Any last-minute corrections to the June 11 reading are accepted until that first June 12 data point appears. No recent news was provided that relates to this market. The only headline given is about SpaceX and has no connection to Wellington's weather. What would actually matter here is local Wellington weather forecasts as June 11 approaches — checking New Zealand meteorology sources closer to the date would give a much clearer picture than anything available now. Weather is genuinely hard to predict more than a few days out, and this market is set about a year in advance, so right now the odds are based almost entirely on historical climate patterns for Wellington in mid-winter. The 82% on 14°C reflects what's typical for that time of year, but any given day can surprise — a warmer air mass, an unusually still day, or an unexpected weather system could push the reading to 15°C or beyond. The gap between 14°C and 15°C is just one degree, so even a small deviation matters.
