What you need to know

This market is asking: on June 10, 2026, what will the hottest moment of the day be at Beijing's main airport, measured in whole degrees Celsius? Each option — 27°C, 28°C, 29°C, and so on — represents a possible peak temperature for that day. Think of it like guessing the high on a weather forecast, but for one specific date about a year from now. The market currently puts nearly all its weight on 27°C as the most likely daily high. This settles based on the single highest temperature recorded at Beijing Capital International Airport (station code ZBAA) on June 10, 2026, as shown on the Weather Underground website. The reading is rounded to a whole number — no decimals. It can only officially close once the first temperature reading for June 11 appears on that same page, locking in the final number. Any corrections to the June 10 data made before that cutoff count; corrections after do not. No relevant recent news was provided for this market. Since the event is still over a year away, the kind of development that would matter most is simply a reliable weather forecast for that specific date — which won't exist until a week or two before June 10, 2026. Historical climate data for Beijing in early June would be the main reference point until then. The honest answer is that predicting a single day's peak temperature more than a year out is genuinely very hard. Early June in Beijing can be warm and dry, but day-to-day highs vary considerably — a cloudy or windy day can push the peak several degrees lower than average. The market is priced heavily at 27°C (99%), so the main real uncertainty is simply whether something unexpected — an unusual heat spell or a cool front — pushes the reading to 28°C or above. That gap between 99% and 100% is where all the genuine unpredictability lives.
