Highest temperature in San Francisco on July 13?
What you need to know
This market is asking: how hot will San Francisco get on July 13, 2026? Specifically, it's asking which 2-degree temperature band will contain the single highest temperature reading of the day — so if the peak temperature is 79°F, the '78–79°F' outcome wins. The location is San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which sits a few miles south of the city center near the bay. July is typically San Francisco's foggier, cooler summer month, so the ranges here — mid-to-high 70s and low 80s — reflect that mild coastal climate. The market settles based on the single highest temperature recorded at SFO on July 13, 2026, as shown on Weather Underground's historical data page for that station. Whichever 2-degree range that peak temperature falls into wins. The reading is in whole-number Fahrenheit — so 79.6°F would count as 79°F. The market waits until the first data point from July 14 appears before it officially closes, and only temperature revisions made before that cutoff are counted. After that, the number is locked in. The two news items provided are about a tree-planting campaign in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh — they have no connection to San Francisco weather. There is no relevant recent news to point to here. What would actually matter to watch is any extended forecast for the San Francisco Bay Area issued a few days before July 13, particularly whether a marine layer or fog pattern is expected to keep temperatures down. San Francisco's July weather is genuinely tricky to pin down even a day in advance. The city sits between cold ocean air and warmer inland heat, and the marine layer — coastal fog — can hold temperatures in the low 70s one day and then pull back to let temperatures push into the 80s the next. The three leading ranges (76–77, 78–79, and 80–81°F) are all priced similarly, which honestly reflects how hard this is to call. A shift in wind direction or fog timing can swing the peak temperature by several degrees.
