New "Stranger Things" episode released by...?
What you need to know
This market asks a simple question: will Netflix drop a brand-new episode of Stranger Things by January 7, 2026? A 'Yes' means at least one fresh, fully playable episode appears on Netflix for regular US subscribers before that deadline. A 'No' means the new season (or any new episode) hasn't arrived by then. Trailers, behind-the-scenes clips, or bonus content don't count — only a real, numbered or titled episode listed on the show's Netflix page. The market settles as Yes if Netflix publishes at least one new Stranger Things episode — listed as a distinct episode on the show's Netflix page and watchable by regular US subscribers — before January 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern time. Bonus content, documentaries, or alternate cuts of old episodes do not count. The primary check is the show's episode list on Netflix itself, with credible news reports used as a backup source if needed. None of the provided news headlines relate to Stranger Things or Netflix in any way — they're about an unrelated local partnership in Canada. There's no relevant recent news to point to here. What would matter to watch for: any official Netflix announcement of a Stranger Things Season 5 release date, or a trailer drop that includes a specific premiere date. The market prices this at just 6%, meaning participants strongly expect no new episode by early January 2026. The main uncertainty is a small but real chance Netflix surprises everyone with an unannounced early release — something streaming services occasionally do. Stranger Things Season 5 has been in production, but no confirmed release date near this deadline is publicly known. The deadline is also quite specific and close, leaving little room for a last-minute announcement to translate into an actual release.

How this resolves
Resolves December 31, 2026
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Netflix officially releases a new episode of Stranger Things (i.e., an episode that was not previously available to stream on Netflix) between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, an “episode” must be listed as a distinct episode of Stranger Things on Netflix and be playable for general subscribers in the United States. A behind-the-scenes featurette, documentary, trailer, recap, cast interview, deleted scenes compilation, or other bonus content will not count unless it is clearly presented by Netflix as an official numbered or titled episode of the series. If Netflix releases an alternate cut, extended cut, or “secret” version of an already-released episode, it will not count unless it is listed as a separate episode entry on Netflix. The primary resolution source for this market will be the Stranger Things title page on Netflix (episode list and availability), however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
