NHL: 2027 Champion

What you need to know

This market asks which NHL team will win the Stanley Cup championship at the end of the 2026–27 season. Each team listed has its own Yes/No question: if you're looking at the Florida Panthers market, a Yes means the Panthers lift the Cup; a No means any other team wins it. The three teams shown — Florida Panthers (14%), Carolina Hurricanes (12%), and Colorado Avalanche (11%) — are the current frontrunners according to the market, but the remaining roughly 63% of probability is spread across all other NHL teams. This market settles — resolves — based on whoever the NHL officially names as Stanley Cup champion for the 2026–27 season, no later than June 30, 2027 at 11:59 PM Eastern time. The moment a team is eliminated from the playoffs, that team's market immediately resolves No. One edge case worth knowing: if the season is cancelled or the final isn't played before that deadline, the market resolves as 'Other' rather than Yes or No — so a lockout or major disruption would produce a different outcome entirely. None of the provided news headlines relate to the NHL, hockey, or any of the teams in this market. No relevant recent news was included. The kinds of developments worth watching for would be major trades, injury news for key players, or anything affecting a team's roster heading into the 2026–27 season. Predicting a Stanley Cup winner more than a season out is genuinely hard — the NHL playoffs are famously unpredictable even once they begin. Injuries to star players, in-season trades, and goaltending variance can completely change a team's fortunes. The market's spread tells the story: no single team is above 14%, meaning the field is wide open and the collective probability of 'someone else wins' is well above 60%. The two-year horizon makes roster changes and unknowns even harder to account for.

How this resolves

Resolves July 1, 2027

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed team is determined as the champion of the NHL for the 2026-27 season. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to be named as the champion of NHL for the 2026-27 season per the rules of NHL (e.g., participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If multiple teams are declared winners, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. If this event is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a champion has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official information from the NHL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
