Counter-Strike: GamerLegion vs NRG (BO1) - IEM Cologne Major Stage 1
Resolution Criteria
This market refers to the Counter-Strike Round 1 match between GamerLegion and NRG in the IEM Cologne Major Stage 1, initially scheduled for June 2 at 8:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "GamerLegion" if GamerLegion win the match against NRG. This market will resolve to "NRG" if NRG win the match against GamerLegion. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.
This market covers the Counter-Strike Best-of-1 match between GamerLegion and NRG in Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major, scheduled for 2 June 2025 at 8:00 AM ET. The market offers a Match Winner outcome alongside Odd/Even Total Kills and Odd/Even Total Rounds propositions. Resolution is sourced from HLTV.org, with a deadline of 2 June 2026 at 18:00 UTC.
Market structure
The market presents three outcome categories: Match Winner, Odd/Even Total Kills, and Odd/Even Total Rounds. As a Best-of-1 contest, a single map determines the match result with no tied outcome possible under normal play. Resolution relies on official HLTV.org results, with a credible-reporting fallback if HLTV does not publish within two hours of the match's conclusion. A cancellation or pre-match walkover triggers a 50-50 split across relevant outcomes.
Background
IEM Cologne is one of the most prestigious events in the CS2 calendar, organised by ESL and held annually in Cologne, Germany. The Major designation places it among the highest tier of Valve-sponsored tournaments, attracting the world's leading organisations. GamerLegion, a European organisation with a growing CS2 roster, and NRG, a North American organisation with an established competitive history, meet in Stage 1, the opening group phase where early eliminations are possible. Best-of-1 matches in Major Stage 1 carry elevated stakes because a loss can immediately threaten a team's progression, compressing margin for error and making individual map preparation and pick-veto decisions especially consequential.
Key factors
Several structural factors shape how this match may unfold. Map veto is critical in a Best-of-1 format: each team's pool of strong and weak maps, combined with the veto order, can heavily influence which map is ultimately played. Recent form and roster stability heading into the event matter, as player substitutions or stand-in arrangements can alter a team's tactical preparation. Tournament scheduling and travel fatigue may affect performance for teams arriving from different regions. The IEM Cologne Major uses an established Swiss or round-robin Stage 1 format, meaning seeding and prior results determine bracket positioning, which in turn affects opponent matchups later in the stage. For the ancillary propositions, total kills and total rounds played depend on map length — a close, extended map produces more rounds and kills than a one-sided result — meaning match competitiveness is a key dependency for those markets.
