Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Databricks' private market valuation, as measured by the NPM Price reported by Nasdaq Private Market, LLC (NPM) for any date between market creation and December 31, 2026, reaches or exceeds the listed amount. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". NPM Prices are published for trading days only and are updated once daily at 1:00 PM ET on the following calendar day. If NPM has not published relevant data for all business dates in the specified period by 1:00 PM ET on January 1, 2027, this market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on January 4, 2027. If no further data is released by that time, the market will resolve according to the data available. If NPM ceases publishing relevant data prior to the end of the specified period, this market will resolve based on the NPM data published for the period prior to the cessation of coverage, as well as any applicable public market capitalization data following an IPO or direct listing. If the company completes an IPO or direct listing before the end of the specified period, this market will consider, in addition to the relevant NPM valuations published between market creation and the IPO or direct listing date, the valuation implied by the official IPO or direct listing price, and the company's public market capitalization between the IPO or direct listing date and the end of the specified period. Public market capitalization will be determined using the highest/lowest official regular-hours trading price published for the company's primary listed common equity on its primary exchange for any trading day during the specified period, multiplied by the company's total outstanding common shares at the relevant time. If the listed company merges with or acquires another entity and remains the parent company, no change to resolution methodology applies. If the listed company is acquired, merges into another entity and is no longer the surviving parent company, or otherwise ceases to exist as an independent entity prior to the end of the period, only NPM valuations and applicable public market capitalizations achieved prior to completion of the transaction will be considered for resolution. No transaction, acquisition, or merger consideration will be considered for resolution. The resolution source for this market is NPM data published here (https://fe.secondmarket.com/companies/company-53787f17-a704-47a9-895a-cb54833bdb1f/data?return_url=https://polymarket.com/finance/privates). The resolution source for any period following an IPO, direct listing, or relevant corporate action, will be official exchange trading data and publicly reported share counts. Revisions to previously published NPM data made after their initial release will not be considered, unless made to correct clearly erroneous data.
Prediction market trading on Databricks' valuation reaching various thresholds by 31 December 2026 shows volume most heavily concentrated around the $160β170 billion range, with the $160B threshold attracting the heaviest backing among the upside outcomes. The market spans twelve discrete valuation levels from below $125B to above $300B, resolving via Nasdaq Private Market (NPM) pricing data or, if an IPO occurs, public market capitalisation. Resolution is due by 1 January 2027.
Market structure
Twelve outcomes cover both upside thresholds ($160B, $170B, $180B, $190B, $200B, $225B, $250B, $300B) and downside thresholds ($125B, $130B, $135B, $140B). Trading is broadly distributed across the mid-range band, with concentration thinning sharply at the extreme ends. Each outcome resolves independently to Yes or No. The primary resolution source is NPM pricing data; an IPO or direct listing triggers a switch to official exchange capitalisation data. A fallback deadline of 11:59 PM ET on 4 January 2027 applies if data publication is delayed.
Background
Databricks, the data and artificial intelligence platform company founded in 2013, raised funding at a $62 billion valuation in 2024 before closing a $15 billion funding round in January 2025 that valued the company at approximately $62 billion. The company has since been the subject of significant investor interest as enterprise AI adoption accelerates, with its Data Intelligence Platform positioned at the intersection of data engineering and large language model infrastructure. Databricks has repeatedly been cited in coverage of potential technology IPO candidates, though the company has not confirmed a public listing timeline. Its rapid revenue growth and dominant position in data lakehouse architecture have made it one of the most closely watched private technology companies globally, prompting active secondary market trading that underpins the NPM pricing mechanism used for this market.
Key factors
Several structural factors bear on whether Databricks' NPM valuation crosses any given threshold before year-end. Secondary market liquidity and transaction frequency directly determine how often NPM can publish updated price observations; thin trading periods may produce flat or delayed valuation readings. Broader technology sector sentiment, particularly appetite for AI infrastructure businesses, influences secondary market pricing. Any IPO or direct listing announcement would shift the resolution mechanism to public market capitalisation, introducing intraday price volatility as a new variable. Competitive dynamics in the data platform and AI infrastructure space β including moves by rivals such as Snowflake or cloud hyperscalers β could affect investor assessments of Databricks' growth trajectory. Macro interest rate conditions affect private market discount rates and therefore the multiples applied to late-stage private companies. A strategic acquisition of Databricks by another entity prior to 31 December 2026 would cap the considered valuation at the level achieved before deal completion, excluding any acquisition premium from resolution calculations.
FAQ
How is the Databricks valuation market resolved?
Each threshold resolves Yes if the NPM Price published by Nasdaq Private Market for any trading day between market creation and 31 December 2026 meets or exceeds the listed amount. If an IPO occurs, the highest public market capitalisation during the period is also considered. Revised NPM data is excluded unless correcting a clear error.
When does the Databricks valuation market resolve?
The primary resolution deadline is 1:00 PM ET on 1 January 2027. If NPM data for all business dates is not yet available by then, the market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on 4 January 2027, after which resolution proceeds on whatever data has been published.
What happens if Databricks completes an IPO before the end of 2026?
An IPO or direct listing triggers a supplementary resolution mechanism. In addition to all NPM valuations published before the listing date, the market considers the valuation implied by the official IPO price and the company's public market capitalisation β calculated using the highest regular-hours trading price multiplied by total outstanding shares β for any trading day through 31 December 2026.
What does the Databricks valuation market currently show?
Trading is most heavily concentrated around the $160β170 billion band, with the $160B upside threshold attracting the strongest backing among all outcomes. The $140B downside threshold also draws meaningful volume. Backing thins considerably at the extreme ends, particularly above $250B and below $125B.
