Resolution Criteria

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Epic Games' private market valuation, as measured by the NPM Price reported by Nasdaq Private Market, LLC (NPM) for any date between market creation and December 31, 2026, reaches or exceeds the listed amount. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". NPM Prices are published for trading days only and are updated once daily at 1:00 PM ET on the following calendar day. If NPM has not published relevant data for all business dates in the specified period by 1:00 PM ET on January 1, 2027, this market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on January 4, 2027. If no further data is released by that time, the market will resolve according to the data available. If NPM ceases publishing relevant data prior to the end of the specified period, this market will resolve based on the NPM data published for the period prior to the cessation of coverage, as well as any applicable public market capitalization data following an IPO or direct listing. If the company completes an IPO or direct listing before the end of the specified period, this market will consider, in addition to the relevant NPM valuations published between market creation and the IPO or direct listing date, the valuation implied by the official IPO or direct listing price, and the company's public market capitalization between the IPO or direct listing date and the end of the specified period. Public market capitalization will be determined using the highest/lowest official regular-hours trading price published for the company's primary listed common equity on its primary exchange for any trading day during the specified period, multiplied by the company's total outstanding common shares at the relevant time. If the listed company merges with or acquires another entity and remains the parent company, no change to resolution methodology applies. If the listed company is acquired, merges into another entity and is no longer the surviving parent company, or otherwise ceases to exist as an independent entity prior to the end of the period, only NPM valuations and applicable public market capitalizations achieved prior to completion of the transaction will be considered for resolution. No transaction, acquisition, or merger consideration will be considered for resolution. The resolution source for this market is NPM data published here (https://fe.secondmarket.com/companies/company-625e5f47-7ff7-45c4-be95-0305665164bd/data?return_url=https://polymarket.com/finance/privates). The resolution source for any period following an IPO, direct listing, or relevant corporate action, will be official exchange trading data and publicly reported share counts. Revisions to previously published NPM data made after their initial release will not be considered, unless made to correct clearly erroneous data.

This market asks whether Epic Games' private valuation, as tracked by Nasdaq Private Market (NPM), will reach specific thresholds by 31 December 2026. Trading is spread across ten outcome brackets ranging from $10 billion to $30 billion. Volume is most heavily concentrated around the $20–$22.5 billion range, with the $25 billion threshold drawing notably split positioning. Resolution is based on NPM Price data published via Nasdaq Private Market.

Market structure

The market spans ten separate valuation thresholds — from below $10 billion to above $30 billion — allowing traders to take positions across a wide range of outcomes. Volume distribution is uneven: mid-range thresholds around $17.5–$20 billion attract the heaviest backing, while the $30 billion threshold sits at the low-probability tail. Resolution requires the NPM Price to reach or exceed the listed amount on any single trading day before 31 December 2026. A fallback window extends to 4 January 2027 if data is delayed.

Background

Epic Games, the privately held developer behind Fortnite and the Unreal Engine, was most recently valued at approximately $31.5 billion during a 2021 funding round before the broader tech valuation correction. A subsequent restructuring in 2023, which included significant layoffs and the sale of its Bandcamp acquisition, signalled a recalibration of the company's financial position. Epic also settled a major antitrust case with Apple and reached a consent decree with the FTC. The company continues to operate core businesses across gaming, the Epic Games Store, and Unreal Engine licensing, while also pursuing ambitions in the metaverse and real-time 3D sectors. Its private valuation trajectory is of interest to investors given speculation about a possible future public listing.

Key factors

Several structural factors bear on how Epic Games' NPM-reported valuation moves through 2026. Fortnite's ongoing revenue performance — including live events, battle pass cycles, and collaborations — directly influences top-line figures that underpin private market pricing. Unreal Engine licensing activity, particularly adoption in film, architecture, and simulation industries beyond gaming, represents a second revenue pillar. Any progress toward or announcement of an IPO or direct listing would introduce public market capitalisation into resolution calculations, potentially moving valuations sharply in either direction depending on market conditions at listing. Macroeconomic factors affecting technology sector multiples, including interest rate trajectories and risk appetite among institutional investors, influence how NPM's pricing model reflects secondary-market transactions. Regulatory outcomes in ongoing or future antitrust proceedings involving app store economics could also affect the company's revenue outlook. Finally, the frequency and volume of secondary-market trades on the NPM platform itself affect how regularly and reliably the NPM Price is updated.

FAQ

How is the Epic Games valuation market resolved?

The market resolves 'Yes' if the NPM Price published by Nasdaq Private Market reaches or exceeds the listed dollar threshold on any trading day between market creation and 31 December 2026. If an IPO occurs, public market capitalisation calculated from official exchange trading prices and total outstanding shares is also considered.

When does the Epic Games valuation market resolve?

The primary resolution deadline is 1 January 2027 at 12:00 UTC. If NPM data for all relevant business dates is not published by 1:00 PM ET on 1 January 2027, the market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on 4 January 2027, after which it resolves on available data.

What happens if Epic Games completes an IPO before December 2026?

If Epic Games lists publicly via IPO or direct listing before the deadline, the market will also consider the valuation implied by the official listing price and the company's daily public market capitalisation — calculated from highest or lowest regular-hours trading prices multiplied by total outstanding shares — for any trading day through 31 December 2026.

What does the Epic Games valuation market currently show?

Volume is most heavily concentrated on the $17.5 billion and $20 billion thresholds, which are the heaviest-backed outcomes. The $25 billion threshold shows more divided positioning, while the $30 billion outcome sits at the low-probability end. The below-$12.5 billion bracket is the most heavily backed of the downside outcomes.
