Resolution Criteria

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Neuralink's private market valuation, as measured by the NPM Price reported by Nasdaq Private Market, LLC (NPM) for any date between market creation and December 31, 2026, reaches or exceeds the listed amount. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". NPM Prices are published for trading days only and are updated once daily at 1:00 PM ET on the following calendar day. If NPM has not published relevant data for all business dates in the specified period by 1:00 PM ET on January 1, 2027, this market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on January 4, 2027. If no further data is released by that time, the market will resolve according to the data available. If NPM ceases publishing relevant data prior to the end of the specified period, this market will resolve based on the NPM data published for the period prior to the cessation of coverage, as well as any applicable public market capitalization data following an IPO or direct listing. If the company completes an IPO or direct listing before the end of the specified period, this market will consider, in addition to the relevant NPM valuations published between market creation and the IPO or direct listing date, the valuation implied by the official IPO or direct listing price, and the company's public market capitalization between the IPO or direct listing date and the end of the specified period. Public market capitalization will be determined using the highest/lowest official regular-hours trading price published for the company's primary listed common equity on its primary exchange for any trading day during the specified period, multiplied by the company's total outstanding common shares at the relevant time. If the listed company merges with or acquires another entity and remains the parent company, no change to resolution methodology applies. If the listed company is acquired, merges into another entity and is no longer the surviving parent company, or otherwise ceases to exist as an independent entity prior to the end of the period, only NPM valuations and applicable public market capitalizations achieved prior to completion of the transaction will be considered for resolution. No transaction, acquisition, or merger consideration will be considered for resolution. The resolution source for this market is NPM data published here (https://fe.secondmarket.com/companies/company-782c0a32-4727-4097-a40b-9a2602f243e7/data?return_url=https://polymarket.com/finance/privates). The resolution source for any period following an IPO, direct listing, or relevant corporate action, will be official exchange trading data and publicly reported share counts. Revisions to previously published NPM data made after their initial release will not be considered, unless made to correct clearly erroneous data.

Prediction markets tracking Neuralink's private valuation show volume heavily concentrated around the $40–50 billion range, with the $40 billion threshold the most heavily backed of the listed outcomes. Resolution depends on Nasdaq Private Market (NPM) price data published for any trading day up to 31 December 2026, with a fallback window extending to 4 January 2027.

Market structure

The market offers ten discrete valuation thresholds ranging from $25 billion to $100 billion, each resolving independently as Yes or No. Volume is broadly distributed across mid-range outcomes, with concentration thinning sharply at the upper end. Resolution is triggered if the NPM Price for Neuralink reaches or exceeds each threshold on any single trading day within the specified period. The resolution source is Nasdaq Private Market data, with public market capitalisation data applicable in the event of an IPO or direct listing.

Background

Neuralink, the brain-computer interface company co-founded by Elon Musk, has attracted significant investor and public attention since its first human clinical trial implant in early 2024. The company reported early positive outcomes from its PRIME Study participants, generating renewed commercial and scientific interest. As a private company, Neuralink does not publish audited financial statements, meaning secondary-market price data from platforms such as Nasdaq Private Market serves as the primary valuation reference. The broader neurotechnology sector has seen increased venture activity, and Neuralink's profile benefits from its association with Musk, though the company operates independently of his other ventures. Regulatory milestones from the US Food and Drug Administration remain central to its development trajectory and perceived commercial value.

Key factors

Neuralink's private valuation as tracked by NPM is influenced by several structural factors. Clinical trial progress, particularly results from the PRIME Study, could shift secondary-market sentiment materially. Regulatory decisions by the FDA — including expanded trial approvals or any safety-related interventions — represent discrete decision points. Secondary market liquidity on platforms such as Nasdaq Private Market is inherently thin compared to public markets, meaning individual large transactions can move reported valuations significantly. Any move toward an IPO or direct listing would introduce public market capitalisation as an additional resolution input, potentially altering the valuation picture. Broader risk appetite in private technology markets, interest rate conditions, and competitive developments from rival BCI programmes at companies such as Synchron or academic institutions could also influence investor pricing. Corporate actions, including acquisition or merger, would cap resolution consideration at the pre-transaction valuation.

FAQ

How is the Neuralink valuation market resolved?

Each threshold resolves Yes if the NPM Price published by Nasdaq Private Market for Neuralink reaches or exceeds that amount on any trading day between market creation and 31 December 2026. Following an IPO, the highest intraday trading price multiplied by total outstanding shares is also considered.

When does the Neuralink valuation market resolve?

The primary resolution deadline is 1:00 PM ET on 1 January 2027. If NPM data for all business days has not been published by that time, the market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on 4 January 2027, resolving on whatever data is available at that point.

What happens if Neuralink completes an IPO before December 2026?

If Neuralink lists publicly before the deadline, the market will also consider the official IPO or direct listing price and subsequent public market capitalisation — calculated using the highest or lowest official regular-hours trading price multiplied by total outstanding shares — for any trading day through to 31 December 2026.

What does the Neuralink valuation market currently show?

Volume is most heavily concentrated around the $40–50 billion range. The $40 billion threshold is the heaviest-backed outcome. The $100 billion threshold attracts notably less support. The distribution suggests the market is treating mid-range thresholds as a broad contested zone rather than a clear two-horse race.
