Eurovision 2027 City: how this market works
What you need to know
This market is asking which city in Bulgaria will host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. Bulgaria won Eurovision 2025, which traditionally earns the winning country the right to host the next contest. The two options are Sofia, the capital, and Burgas, a coastal city on the Black Sea. A Yes on Sofia means Sofia gets the hosting rights; a Yes on Burgas means Burgas does. The market currently places Sofia far ahead, at 88%. The market settles the moment Eurovision or credible news outlets officially announce the 2027 host city. It does not wait for the event to actually take place. There is one important edge case: if the winning city is later changed after the announcement, the market still resolves based on the first official announcement, not the final outcome. If no city is announced before December 31, 2026, the market resolves as 'Other', meaning neither Sofia nor Burgas wins. None of the provided news headlines relate to Eurovision, Bulgaria, or the host city selection. No relevant recent news was shared for this market. The kind of development worth watching for would be an official statement from the European Broadcasting Union or Bulgarian broadcasters naming their preferred host city. The market strongly favors Sofia at 88%, so this is not really a close contest in the eyes of participants. The main remaining uncertainty is simply whether something unexpected happens, such as Burgas mounting a stronger bid, or an announcement being delayed past the deadline and triggering the 'Other' outcome. Host city decisions can sometimes take longer than expected. The biggest open question is timing: will the announcement come before December 31, 2026?
