Pro Football: 2027 AFC Champion: how this market works
What you need to know
This market is asking which team will win the AFC Championship game in January 2027, which is the last game before the Super Bowl on the AFC side. A 'Yes' on a team means that team wins that single conference final game. A 'No' on a team simply means they did not win it, either by losing along the way in the playoffs or losing the championship game itself. The three teams shown, the Ravens, Bills, and Chargers, are the current frontrunners, but other AFC teams can also win. The market settles on whichever team wins the AFC Championship game, played around late January 2027. The official source is NFL.com, though credible sports reporting can also be used. If a team gets knocked out before the championship game, their market immediately resolves No. One edge case worth knowing: if the championship game is cancelled or has no winner declared before March 31, 2027, the whole market resolves as 'Other' rather than Yes or No. None of the provided news headlines relate to the 2027 NFL season or AFC teams. There is no relevant recent news to point to here. The kinds of developments worth watching for would be quarterback injuries, major trades or free-agent signings, training camp news, and regular-season results as the 2026 NFL season unfolds. Predicting a conference champion more than a year out is genuinely hard. Injuries alone can derail any favorite, and the NFL regular season plus multiple playoff rounds must all go a team's way before they reach the championship game. The market spreads probability across many teams, with no single team above 16%, which reflects just how open this is. Roster changes, coaching decisions, and plain luck across a long season all add layers of unpredictability that no one can fully account for right now.
