Understand this market
This market is about what specific words or phrases Karoline Leavitt will say out loud during her very next official White House press briefing. Each bracket is a separate yes-or-no question: will she say the word 'President' at least 40 times, at least 50 times, or will she mention 'CDC' or 'WHO' at least once? The market is not about policy outcomes, just about which words actually come out of her mouth in that single briefing.
The market settles based on footage from the next official briefing where Leavitt participates as acting Press Secretary. Someone counts the words spoken. If she says 'President' 40 or more times, that bracket resolves Yes. If she says it 50 or more times, that one resolves Yes too. If she mentions 'CDC' or 'WHO' even once, that bracket resolves Yes. Casual press gaggles in hallways do not count, only formally scheduled briefings. If no qualifying briefing happens before July 31, 2026, all word-count brackets resolve No.
The provided news covers topics like a Trump diplomatic deal, a FIFA nomination, flooding in India, and autonomous vehicles. None of these headlines directly signal that CDC or WHO topics will dominate the next briefing. What would matter most to watch for is any breaking health or public-health story, since those are the kinds of events that tend to bring CDC or WHO into a White House briefing.
The 'President 40+ times' and '50+ times' brackets are priced at 99% and 95%, which reflects that Press Secretaries routinely mention the President many times in a single briefing. The real uncertainty there is simply whether something very unusual happens, like a briefing being cut short. The 'CDC/WHO' bracket at 50% is a genuine coin-toss: those agencies only come up when there is a health-related news hook, and whether one exists on the day of the next briefing is genuinely unpredictable right now.

Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the acting White House Press Secretary says the listed term during the next White House press briefing they participate in. Otherwise, the market will resolve to "No". If no such press briefing happens by July 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, "-No Qualifying Event-" will resolve to "Yes" and all other brackets will resolve to "No". This market refers to White House press briefings by the acting White House Press Secretary (https://rollcall.com/factbase/trump/topic/calendar/). Any press briefing by the acting White House Press Secretary will qualify. "New Media" press briefings or special briefings such as those including extra guests will be considered, so long as the acting White House Press Secretary is a listed participant. Impromptu press gaggles will not be considered for the resolution of this market; only events listed on the public schedule as briefings or announcements will qualify. The resolution source for this market will be footage of the relevant briefing.
