Titled Tuesday Top 3: August 4: how this market works
What you need to know
This market asks whether each of three named chess players will finish in the top 3 of Titled Tuesday, a popular weekly online blitz chess tournament hosted by Chess.com, on August 4, 2026. There are three separate yes/no questions, one per player. A 'Yes' means that player ended the tournament in first, second, or third place. A 'No' means they finished lower, or did not play at all. Each market settles as Yes if the named player appears in the official top 3 of the August 4 Titled Tuesday standings published by Chess.com. Chess.com is the deciding source. There is a hard deadline: if final standings are not published by August 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, all three markets resolve No automatically, even if the tournament happened. If a player simply does not show up to play, that also resolves as No for their market. None of the provided news headlines relate to chess, Titled Tuesday, or any of the three players. There is no relevant recent news to point to here. The kind of update that would matter is any announcement that a player is skipping the tournament, or news of the tournament being cancelled or rescheduled. All three players are priced at 99%, meaning the market treats a top-3 finish for each as almost certain. At that level, the real uncertainty is not about who wins but about whether something unexpected blocks a Yes: a player deciding not to participate, a technical issue with the platform, or a scheduling change that pushes the event past the resolution deadline. The market is heavily one-sided, so manufacturing a balanced debate would be misleading. The slim 1% reflects those low-probability surprises.
