Will it rain during the Hungarian Grand Prix?: how this market works

0%weatherUpdated 1 min ago

What you need to know

This market is asking one simple question: did it actually rain during the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix race? Yes means rain fell during the race itself. No means the race ran in dry conditions from start to finish. It does not matter what the weather was like during practice or qualifying, only the race on July 26, 2026 counts. The market settles based solely on the FIA's official Race Weather Report, a formal document the sport's governing body publishes after each race. If that report marks the rainfall trace as 'Wet' at any point during the race, it resolves Yes. If it shows no wet reading, it resolves No. If the report is not published by August 2, it defaults to No. If the race is cancelled or pushed past August 2, it splits 50-50. No other source, including TV commentary or team radio, counts. None of the provided news stories are relevant to weather conditions at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix. The race took place on July 26, 2026, so the most useful thing to watch for now would be the publication of the official FIA Race Weather Report, which is the only document that determines how this market settles. At 7%, the market is pricing rain as quite unlikely, which fits Budapest in late July: the Hungaroring is historically one of the hotter, drier venues on the F1 calendar. The main uncertainty is simply that summer thunderstorms in Central Europe can appear quickly and are hard to forecast precisely. The criteria also add a layer: even if it rained nearby, only an official 'Wet' reading on the FIA report counts, so borderline drizzle might not be enough.
