Will Russia capture all of Rodynske again by...?: how this market works
What you need to know
This market asks whether Russia will take full control of Rodynske, a small settlement in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, by a set deadline. Yes means every part of that municipality falls under confirmed Russian control. No means Ukraine holds onto at least some portion of it past the deadline. The word 'again' in the title suggests Russia may have held parts of this area before, lost ground, and is now pushing to retake it completely. The market settles Yes if a specific conflict-tracking map, published by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), shows the entire Rodynske municipality shaded red for Russian control, and that shading holds through at least one full daily update cycle before the deadline. One important edge case: a peace deal that gives Russia actual physical control also counts as Yes, but a deal that only exists on paper does not. The deadline shown in the resolution criteria is June 30, 2026, not September 30, so readers should note that discrepancy between the title and the criteria. The provided news headlines do not include specific reporting on Rodynske or the immediate front lines around it. The headlines mention intensifying Russian attacks across Ukraine and a Ukrainian military shakeup, which are the kinds of developments that could affect battlefield momentum broadly. For this specific market, what would matter most is any ISW map update showing Russian advances into or around Rodynske itself. The market is priced very high, at 95% for July and 99% for September, meaning participants collectively treat a Yes outcome as close to certain. At that level, the main remaining uncertainty is simply whether something unexpected disrupts it: a Ukrainian counterattack, a ceasefire that freezes front lines before full capture, or an ISW mapping decision that does not meet the exact criteria. The gap between the title deadline and the criteria deadline is also worth noting, since it creates some ambiguity about which date actually governs resolution.
