Understand this market
This market is asking which song will sit at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the chart dated August 15, 2026. The Hot 100 ranks the most popular songs in the US each week, combining streaming numbers, radio airplay, and sales. A Yes on any listed song means that song tops the chart that specific week. Right now the market sees Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' as the slight frontrunner, with Ariana Grande's two songs each close behind.
The market settles on whichever song Billboard officially lists as number one on the Hot 100 chart labeled 'Week of August 15, 2026,' which is typically published on a Tuesday in early August 2026. Billboard is the sole source of truth here. One edge case worth noting: if two songs somehow tie at number one, the tiebreaker is alphabetical order by title, not a shared win. If Billboard doesn't publish the chart within 14 days of the expected date, the market resolves as 'Other.'
None of the provided recent news headlines relate to this market. They cover unconnected local and international stories. To follow this market, the kinds of developments worth watching would be new song releases from major artists, streaming milestone announcements, or chart performance updates closer to the week of August 15, 2026.
The main challenge is that chart positions shift week to week based on streaming, radio play, and downloads, and a big new release between now and August 2026 could enter at number one and change everything. The market is genuinely split, with three songs all priced competitively, reflecting real uncertainty. Music trends are hard to forecast months out, and a viral moment, a film sync, or a surprise drop from any artist could reshape the race entirely.

Resolution Criteria
Billboard updates its Hot 100 songs chart each Tuesday (with adjusted release schedules on some holiday weeks), reflecting data from the previous week (Friday-Thursday). Each Billboard chart is then titled "Week of (date of the upcoming Saturday)". This market will resolve according to the number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart titled "Week of August 15, 2026". Songs will be primarily ranked by order on the specified chart. If two or more songs are tied for any position, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the songs' listed titles. This market will resolve to the song that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. This market will resolve as soon as the relevant chart is published. If the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the specified week is not published within 14 calendar days of the expected release date, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be the official Billboard Hot 100 chart, published on the Billboard website (https://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/) or through other official Billboard channels.
