Central Bank of Colombia decision in September

Understand this market
This market is asking whether Colombia's central bank will change its benchmark interest rate at its September 2026 meeting, and if so, by how much. The benchmark rate is the main tool the bank uses to influence borrowing costs and inflation across the whole economy. A 'No Change' outcome means the bank holds the rate exactly where it is. A '25 bps increase' means it raises the rate by a quarter of a percentage point, making loans more expensive. A '50+ bps increase' means an even bigger raise.
The market settles based on the official announcement from Colombia's central bank, Banco de la República, on September 30, 2026. Whatever the bank declares at that meeting is the final word. If the meeting is cancelled or delayed so long that no decision comes before the next scheduled meeting, the market automatically resolves as 'No Change', even if nothing was actually decided. Only the decision from that specific meeting counts, not any emergency rate moves made outside of it.
None of the provided news headlines relate to Colombia's central bank or its interest rate policy. There is no relevant recent news to point to here. The kinds of developments worth watching for would be Colombia's inflation reports, official statements from Banco de la República governors, and broader Latin American economic conditions heading into the second half of 2026.
Central bank decisions depend on inflation data, economic growth, currency movements, and global conditions that can all shift significantly between now and September 2026. That is still many months away, which means a lot can change. The market currently leans toward no change at 65%, with a meaningful minority at 28% expecting a modest rate increase, so this is not a settled question. The real difficulty is that Colombia's economic picture in late 2026 is genuinely unknown today, and central banks sometimes surprise even experienced analysts.

Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve according to the change in basis points in the monetary policy interest rate resulting from the September 2026 meeting of the Central Bank of Colombia (Banco de la Republica), relative to the level it was prior to this meeting. The resolution source will be official information from the Central Bank of Colombia, including the statement or release from its September 2026 meeting, scheduled for September 30, 2026, as listed on the official Central Bank of Colombia calendar (https://www.banrep.gov.co/es/calendario-eventos). This market may resolve as soon as the statement or release of the Central Bank of Colombia's September 2026 meeting with relevant data is issued. If the specified rate is defined by an upper and lower bound, the relevant change will be the change to the upper bound. If the specified rate is changed to a level not expressed in the displayed options, the change will be rounded according to the following guidelines. Increases or decreases of less than 25 bps will be rounded to 25 bps (e.g. an increase or decrease of 10 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 25 bps). Increases or decreases of greater than 25 bps will be rounded to the nearest 25 bps and will be rounded away from 0 in cases of equidistance (e.g., an increase or decrease of 37.5 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 50 bps). Displayed options of “Increase” or “Decrease” will include policy rate increases or decreases of any size. If the specified meeting is postponed to a date and time before the start of the next scheduled meeting, this market will resolve based on the outcome of that postponed meeting. If the specified meeting is cancelled, or postponed such that no decision is announced by the start of the next scheduled meeting, this market will resolve to the “No Change” bracket. Emergency changes to the specified rate not resulting from the specified meeting will not be considered.
