Los Angeles Dodgers

Understand this market
This market is asking which team will win the National League in 2026 and advance to the World Series. The National League Championship Series (NLCS) is the final playoff round within the NL — the winner of that series becomes the NL champion. So a 'Yes' on the Dodgers, for example, means Los Angeles wins that final NL playoff round. A 'No' simply means that specific team was eliminated before or during that series.

Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve according to the team that wins the 2026 National League Championship Series. If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed team to win the 2026 National League Championship Series per the rules of the MLB (e.g., they are eliminated in the playoffs), the corresponding market will resolve to “No”. If the 2026 National League Championship Series is cancelled, postponed after November 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source will be official information from Major League Baseball (https://www.mlb.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

The field is strongly concentrated on a small cluster of teams, with the remaining thirteen franchises commanding relatively modest shares. The market resolves on the official result of the 2026 National League Championship Series, with a deadline of 1 November 2026.
Market structure
The market covers all fifteen National League franchises across five divisions. Volume is heavily concentrated, with the Dodgers commanding a dominant share and the Braves at a considerable distance in second. The Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers form a secondary cluster. The remaining ten teams hold comparatively small shares. Resolution is based on the winner of the 2026 NLCS, sourced from official MLB records. If no winner is declared by 1 November 2026, the market resolves to 'Other'.
Background
The National League Championship Series determines which NL franchise advances to the World Series. The Dodgers enter the 2026 cycle as the market's dominant favourite, reflecting their sustained roster investment, recent World Series success, and consistent postseason presence through the mid-2020s. The Atlanta Braves, who were World Series champions in 2021 and have remained perennial contenders, represent the principal challenger. The Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers — each with credible recent or projected rosters — form the competitive midfield. Franchises such as the Colorado Rockies, Washington Nationals, and Miami Marlins are in rebuilding phases that markets are pricing accordingly. The NL pennant race is shaped by regular-season divisional outcomes, wild-card qualification, and the bracket draw that determines who must face whom in the postseason.
Key factors
Several structural factors influence which team ultimately wins the 2026 NLCS. First, regular-season performance determines seeding, which affects the postseason bracket and the potential matchups a team must navigate. Higher seeds carry home-field advantage through each series. Second, pitching depth is historically decisive in short playoff series; rotations capable of deploying two or three reliable starters in a seven-game format hold a structural edge. Third, injury developments through the 162-game regular season and the early playoff rounds can significantly alter any team's competitive standing before the NLCS itself. Fourth, roster construction decisions — trades, free-agent signings, prospect promotions — made between now and the trade deadline will reshape the competitive balance across all five NL divisions. Fifth, the wild-card format means several teams with inferior divisional records can still reach the later rounds, keeping the bracket fluid. Finally, historical variance in short playoff series means that even heavily backed teams can be eliminated by lower-seeded opponents.
