League of Legends Global Power Rankings Post Worlds: Rank 1: how this market works
What you need to know
This market asks which professional League of Legends team will be ranked number 1 in the official Global Power Rankings after the 2026 World Championship ends. A Yes for BLG means Bilibili Gaming finishes the year on top of the rankings. The same applies to HLE (Hanwha Life Esports) and GEN (Gen.G). The Global Power Rankings are a scoring system that tracks how teams perform across major tournaments throughout the competitive year, so the top spot reflects sustained excellence, not just one tournament win. The market settles on whichever team holds the number 1 spot in the official League of Legends Esports Global Power Rankings once those rankings are updated after the 2026 World Championship concludes. The rankings are published at lolesports.com. One edge case worth knowing: if two teams are tied for first, the tiebreaker is alphabetical order by team name, not performance. If the final rankings are not published by January 14, 2027, or if a team outside the listed options takes first, the market resolves to "Other." None of the recent headlines provided relate to League of Legends, esports, or the teams in this market. There is no relevant recent news to point to here. The kinds of developments worth watching would be major tournament results during the 2026 season, roster changes for BLG, HLE, or Gen.G, and eventually the 2026 World Championship draw and results. The 2026 World Championship has not happened yet, and a full competitive year of results still separates us from the final ranking. The Global Power Rankings accumulate points across multiple tournaments, so a team that dominates early can be overtaken late by a World Championship winner. Roster changes, regional meta shifts, and bracket luck at Worlds all add noise. The market currently prices BLG as the most likely top team at around 48%, but nearly half the market weight sits on HLE and Gen.G, reflecting real uncertainty about the outcome.
