Games of the Future 2026: Winner: how this market works
What you need to know
This market is asking which Dota 2 team will win the Games of the Future 2026 tournament. Dota 2 is a team-based strategy video game, and this tournament is a major international esports event. A Yes for PlayTime means that team lifts the trophy; a Yes for Team Resilience or LGD Gaming means one of them does instead. The remaining percentage not assigned to any named team is the chance that someone else entirely wins. The market settles on whichever team the official organizer, Phygital International, declares as the Dota 2 champion at Games of the Future 2026, scheduled for July 31 to August 5, 2026. Two edge cases matter: first, if the tournament is postponed past August 19, 2026, or canceled outright with no declared winner, the whole market resolves as 'Other', meaning no listed team wins the payout. Second, if two teams are somehow both declared winners, the team whose name comes first in the alphabet takes it. None of the provided news headlines relate to Games of the Future 2026, Dota 2, or esports in any way. The kind of news that would actually matter here includes tournament bracket updates, team roster announcements, match results from the event itself, or any official word on scheduling changes from the organizer. Three real sources of uncertainty exist here. First, competitive Dota 2 at top level is genuinely unpredictable: upsets happen regularly, and a single series can hinge on one mistake. Second, the field is split relatively evenly across three named teams plus an unlisted 'other' share, so no team is a heavy favorite. Third, the event is scheduled for mid-2026 and anything affecting travel, visas, or tournament logistics could trigger the 'Other' resolution, which would surprise many participants.

How this resolves
This market will resolve according to the winner of the Dota 2 discipline at Games of the Future 2026, currently scheduled for July 31 to August 5, 2026. If this tournament is postponed after August 19, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, canceled, or a winner has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other." If multiple teams are declared winner, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed team name comes first alphabetically. Read the full resolution rules on the live market page.
