Will Palantir (PLTR) finish week of August 3 above___?: how this market works

99%economyUpdated 1 min ago

What you need to know

This market asks a simple question: will Palantir's stock price close above a specific dollar amount on Friday, August 7, 2026? There are three separate price thresholds here: $118, $127, and $128. Each one is its own Yes or No question. A Yes means Palantir's stock closes strictly above that number at the end of the trading day. A No means it closes at or below it. The market settles based on Palantir's official closing price on Friday, August 7, 2026, pulled from a data service called Pyth. Specifically, it uses the price recorded in the final one-minute window of regular trading hours. If the price equals the threshold exactly, that counts as No. If Palantir somehow does not trade at all that day, the market splits 50-50. Stock splits, if any occur before then, would adjust the target prices proportionally. The two news items provided are not relevant to Palantir or its stock price. There is no recent Palantir-specific news to point to here. The kinds of developments worth watching would be Palantir earnings reports, major government or AI contract announcements, or broad market swings that move tech stocks as a group. All three thresholds are priced at 98-99%, meaning the market currently treats these as nearly certain to resolve Yes. At that level, the real uncertainty is not about two balanced sides: it is simply whether something unexpected happens before August 7, 2026. That is still over a year away, which is a long time. A sharp market downturn, a company-specific shock, or a broader tech selloff could all move the price. The longer the time horizon, the more room there is for surprise.
