Ethereum above ___ on August 5?: how this market works
What you need to know
This market asks whether Ethereum's price will be above a specific dollar level at exactly noon Eastern Time on August 5, 2026. There are three separate price thresholds: $1,700, $1,800, and $1,900. Each is its own Yes/No question. Yes means ETH is trading above that number at that exact moment. No means it is at or below it. The spread in current odds, from 97% for $1,700 down to 34% for $1,900, shows the market sees meaningful distance between those levels. Settlement depends on one specific data point: the closing price of the ETH/USDT one-minute candle at noon Eastern Time on August 5, 2026, pulled from Binance specifically. If that single price is strictly higher than the threshold, the market resolves Yes. At or below it resolves No. Two important edges to know: it is only Binance's price that counts, not Coinbase or any other exchange, and it is only that one minute at noon, not a daily average or any other time. No relevant recent news was provided for this market. The kind of developments that would matter here include major shifts in broader crypto market conditions, significant Ethereum network upgrades, changes in regulatory environment for crypto assets, or large macroeconomic moves that tend to push crypto prices up or down together. Crypto prices can move dramatically over a year, which is how far away August 2026 still is. The market currently prices $1,700 at 97%, suggesting most participants consider that floor fairly safe, while $1,900 at 34% reflects genuine doubt. But a year is a long time in crypto: past cycles have seen Ethereum drop or rise by more than 50% within months. The single-minute, single-exchange resolution method also means a brief price spike or dip right at noon could flip the outcome unexpectedly.
