What price will Ethereum hit August 3-9?: how this market works

51%cryptoUpdated 5 min ago

What you need to know

This market is asking whether Ethereum's price will touch a specific level during the week of August 3 to 9, 2026. There are three separate price targets being tracked: $1,800 (with a 55% chance it touches that level or goes below), $2,000 (20% chance it reaches that high), and $1,700 (15% chance it drops that low). Each one is essentially a separate yes-or-no question about whether ETH will reach that exact price at any moment during that week. Each price target resolves Yes the moment any single one-minute price candle on Binance's ETH/USDT chart touches the target, either hitting the high or the low depending on the direction. For upward targets like $2,000, the candle's high price just needs to reach or exceed that number. For downward targets like $1,700 and $1,800, the candle's low price just needs to touch or go below it. Only Binance ETH/USDT data counts. Prices from Coinbase, Kraken, or any other exchange are ignored entirely. None of the recent news provided relates to Ethereum or cryptocurrency markets. The headlines cover a Malaysian car brand, oil prices, Indian inflation, a pharmaceutical company, and energy imports. There is no relevant crypto news to draw on here. The kind of news that would actually matter includes major regulatory announcements, large exchange developments, macroeconomic signals like interest rate decisions, or significant moves in Bitcoin that often pull Ethereum along. Crypto prices can swing sharply within a single week, so all three targets are genuinely in play. The market currently prices the $1,800 downside touch as most likely at 55%, but crypto is notoriously hard to predict even a few days out. A sudden market-wide event, a regulatory surprise, or a broad risk-off move could push ETH in either direction fast. The one-minute candle rule also means even a brief spike or dip counts, so extreme short-term volatility matters just as much as the overall weekly trend.
