Ethereum above ___ on August 6?: how this market works

99%cryptoUpdated 3 min ago

What you need to know

This market asks whether Ethereum's price will be above a specific dollar amount at exactly noon Eastern Time on August 6, 2026. There are three separate price thresholds being tracked: $1,700, $1,800, and $1,900. A 'Yes' on any of them means ETH is trading above that number at that exact moment. A 'No' means it is at or below it. The market is essentially a snapshot question: one price, one moment, one answer. Settlement depends on a single data point: the closing price of the ETH/USDT trading pair on Binance, recorded on the one-minute candle that closes at exactly noon Eastern Time on August 6, 2026. That one number determines Yes or No for each threshold. Importantly, only Binance is used as the source, not Coinbase, Kraken, or any other exchange. If ETH trades at $1,850, for example, the $1,700 and $1,800 markets resolve Yes, and the $1,900 market resolves No. No relevant news was provided for this market. The one headline supplied is about a political case in Pakistan and has no connection to Ethereum or crypto markets. The kinds of developments worth watching would include major regulatory announcements, significant moves in broader crypto markets, or any large Ethereum-specific events like network upgrades or exchange issues. Crypto prices can move dramatically over a year, which is roughly how far August 6, 2026 is from now. The market currently prices $1,700 at 97% and $1,900 at only 36%, suggesting traders see a wide range of plausible outcomes above $1,700 but real doubt about reaching $1,900. The biggest sources of uncertainty are macroeconomic shifts, regulatory changes, and crypto market sentiment, all of which are genuinely hard to forecast that far out. A single volatile day could swing any of these outcomes.
