Who will leave Trump Administration before 2027?: how this market works

39%politicsUpdated 5 min ago

What you need to know

This market asks whether specific Trump administration officials will leave their roles before the end of 2026. Three people are listed separately: David Sacks (the White House AI and crypto czar), Howard Lutnick (Commerce Secretary), and Kash Patel (FBI Director). For each one, a Yes means that person publicly departs their role before December 31, 2026, and a No means they are still in their position when the deadline arrives. Each person's market settles to Yes the moment an official announcement is made that they are resigning or being removed, even if the actual departure happens later. The deadline is December 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern time. The main source used to confirm a departure is official Trump administration communications, though a clear agreement among credible news organizations can also be used. If no departure is announced before that deadline, the market resolves No. None of the provided recent headlines relate directly to David Sacks, Howard Lutnick, or Kash Patel or their status in the administration. No relevant news to point to here. The kind of development that would matter is any report of internal conflict, a presidential public criticism of one of them, or a direct announcement of a role change. Staff departures are genuinely hard to predict because they often happen suddenly and for personal or political reasons that are not visible from outside. The market currently prices each of these three officials at roughly 36 to 41 percent chance of leaving, meaning participants see real but not dominant probability of departure for each. The Trump administration has seen notable turnover historically, but many officials also serve full terms. The nearly 18 months remaining before the deadline is a long window, which adds uncertainty in both directions.
