Ethereum above ___ on August 7?: how this market works
What you need to know
This market is asking whether Ethereum's price will be above a specific dollar level at exactly noon Eastern Time on August 7, 2026. There are three separate version of this market, one for each price threshold: $1,600, $1,700, and $1,800. A 'Yes' means ETH is trading above that number at that exact moment. A 'No' means it is at or below it. Right now, ETH is trading well above all three thresholds, which is why the odds are so high. Settlement is based on one single data point: the closing price of the ETH/USDT one-minute candle at noon Eastern Time on August 7, 2026, as shown on Binance specifically. One important detail: it must be Binance's ETH/USDT pair, not any other exchange or trading pair. If ETH closes that one-minute candle at exactly $1,800 and the threshold is $1,800, that is not higher, so it would resolve No. The price must be strictly above the number in the title. No relevant recent news was provided for this market. The kind of developments worth watching for would be major shifts in the broader crypto market, significant Ethereum network upgrades, changes in regulatory policy around crypto, or large moves in Bitcoin that tend to pull ETH along with them. The market prices the $1,600 threshold at 99% and $1,800 at 86%, so the main uncertainty here is simply whether something unexpected happens over the next year. Ethereum has historically been a volatile asset, capable of large drops during market downturns. A year is a long time in crypto. The single-minute snapshot at noon also means a brief flash crash at exactly that moment could flip a result even if prices recover quickly. The honest uncertainty is tail risk, not a balanced two-sided debate.
