What will Natural Gas (NG) hit Week of July 27 2026?: how this market works

50%economyUpdated just now

What you need to know

This market is asking whether the price of Natural Gas futures will touch specific price levels during the trading week of July 27, 2026. There are three separate price targets: $2.70 (a drop down to that level), $3.00 (a rise up to that level), and $2.60 (a deeper drop). Each one is its own Yes or No question. A Yes means the price actually touched that number at some point during the week, even briefly. A No means it never got there. Each price target resolves Yes if, at any moment during that week's official trading sessions, a single one-minute price bar for the active Natural Gas futures contract records a High or Low that reaches the listed level. For the downward targets, the Low must touch or go below the number. For the upward target, the High must touch or go above it. The week runs from Sunday evening July 26 at 6 PM Eastern time through Friday July 31 at 5 PM Eastern time, with a short daily break. If trading does not occur at all, it resolves No. None of the provided news headlines relate to Natural Gas prices, energy markets, or anything that would affect this market. There is no relevant recent news to point to here. The kinds of developments worth watching would be weekly US natural gas storage reports, major weather forecasts affecting heating or cooling demand, and any supply disruption news from producers. Natural Gas is one of the most volatile commodity markets, and prices can swing sharply on a single weather forecast or storage report surprise. The market currently prices the $2.70 downside target highest at 44%, the $3.00 upside target at 16%, and the deeper $2.60 drop at 10%. The key difficulty is that even a small unexpected event, a heatwave, a pipeline issue, a storage miss, can move prices far and fast within a single week, making any weekly price target genuinely hard to call.
