Will Netanyahu wear a Yarmulke at next meeting with Trump?: how this market works

3%politicsUpdated 5 min ago

What you need to know

This market asks a very specific question about a personal habit: will Netanyahu be seen wearing a kippah (the small religious head covering worn by many Jewish men) on the same day he next meets with Trump in person? A Yes means a photo or video captures him wearing one at any point that day. A No means he is not photographed wearing one that day, or no qualifying meeting happens at all before July 31, 2026. The market settles Yes only if credible media photos or video show Netanyahu wearing a kippah on the calendar day of a qualifying Trump-Netanyahu meeting. That meeting must involve real interaction: a handshake, conversation, or direct exchange, not just being in the same room. If the two never meet in person before July 31, 2026, the market resolves No automatically. The key point is that the kippah must be documented on that specific day, not just at the meeting itself. None of the recent news provided relates to a Netanyahu-Trump meeting or to Netanyahu's plans to travel to the United States. No relevant developments to point to here. The kind of news that would matter is any announcement of an upcoming face-to-face meeting between the two leaders, or reporting on Netanyahu's travel schedule. The market is priced at just 3% Yes, which tells you the crowd considers this very unlikely. Netanyahu is publicly secular in his appearance and is rarely photographed wearing a kippah in political settings, so the historical pattern strongly points to No. The main uncertainty is simply whether something unexpected happens: a surprise change in his practice, a religious ceremony on that day, or an unusual context for the meeting. At this price, the honest question is not which side is right, but whether a low-probability surprise occurs.
